The Workshop focuses on a group discussion of Black feminist writer Audre Lorde’s essay, Your Silence Will Not Protect You.
Author and speaker, Keturah Kendrick, will guide participants through reading an excerpt of the essay. Choosing key words and phrases from the text, Kendrick will then provide participants with writing prompts that encourage thoughtful analysis of the desires and passions that sit quietly in the shadows of many women’s lives. Those expressions women relegate to silence because saying them out loud proposes too great a threat to the safety of acceptance.
